Misty Cove’s vineyards lie throughout the Marlborough region, including the Wairau Valley and the Waihopi Valley, where these images were taken. What is really special about this site in the Waihopai is its elevation where the extended sun exposure results in frost-free days and super concentrated fruit.
Utilising precision viticulture, our teamwork arduously to produce the premium quality fruit from which we craft Misty Cove wines.
This year Misty Cove harvested Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Pinot noir, Pinot Gris and Gruner Veltliner. Each varietals’ harvest is determined by the season, physiological ripeness and most importantly taste.
Harvest starts in early autumn - the end of March through April - when the weather is usually more stable with warm sunny days and cool nights.
Because super premium fruit requires very little manipulation in the winery, Misty Cove likes to use traditional winemaking methods such as minimal fining and gentle extraction.
