2020 Landmark Series

Lock up your aunties, a new Chardy has moved into town. We love oak, M Frame sunglasses, short shorts and socks pulled up to our knees. But that was the 80s, back when it was all about that big, buttery goodness. We're gonna meet you half way folks with a Chardy is that absolutely gorgeous on flavour and rounded out superbly with some real natural oak. Kinda like when Nirvana killed the hair bands, our Chardonnay is a game changer.

HOW IT GOES DOWN

Dry and finishing long with a hint of toasty oak this well balanced and attractive wine combines the best of ripe Marlborough fruit with complexity and weight from a barrel. Golden and brilliant in the glass, this wine is full bodied and softly textural with good weight from ripe fruit balanced by judicious use of toasty oak.

"Gorgeously fruited and wonderfully complex, the bouquet shows apricot, rockmelon, vanillin oak and oatmeal characters. The palate displays excellent weight and persistency, combined with succulent fruit flavours and seductive oak infusion, making it hugely appealing. At its best: now to 2025."

"Rich, mouth-filling chardonnay with white peach, nectarine, and savoury, smoky, nutty flavours. An intense, age-worthy wine with a deliciously creamy texture and lingering finish."

Winemaking

For us, less is more as our Fareham Lane fruit is hand-picked and aged in high quality French barriques keeping the oak in check as only about a third is new. The result is a succulent and creamy wine that is wonderfully satisfying with a lengthy finish. Lovingly handcrafted in small batch quantities, hand-picked and whole bunch pressed directly to 30% new French barriques, with the remaining juice pressed directly to 1 & 2-year-old French barriques, then fermented with indigenous yeasts.
