2023 Landmark Series

Our Landmark Pinot Noir goes great with old denim and moody conversations about continental philosophy. The sexy rebel of our Landmark Series, our Pinot is midnight in Paris; Rouge Dior lipstick hugging a lit Gauloises in 1979 somewhere - anywhere. It is the David Bowie Berlin trilogy playing all night until the sun comes up. Yes, it's that bloody good. Try it yourself.

THE PERFECT PAIRING

This baby is surely one to savour with great mates and good food. Enjoy with a juicy steak covered in creamy mushroom & black pepper sauce. To be honest though, our Pinot goes great with almost everything.

Expert Opinion

2021 Vintage

"Splendidly ripe and perfumed with sweet plum, dark cherry, rich floral and toasted nut characters with a hint of savoury complexity. The palate delivers excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, wonderfully complemented by silky texture and beautifully pitched tannins. Flavoursome and highly appealing. At its best: now to 2029."

2021 Vintage - Top Value Wines of New Zealand.

"This is from Misty Cove's Flagship Fareham Lane Vineyard in Marlborough. That's their top vineyard. It's the sort of wine that as I'm tasting it, it makes me ask the big question, "How do they do it at the price?" Delicately scented, almost slightly floral. Delicious, refreshing. It's classic Pinot Noir. I'm getting cherries, plum, once again, floral, perhaps red rose petal, and just a hint of spice. It's a really delicately poised wine."

"It's sweetly ripe and inviting with black cherry, floral, almond and thyme aromas, leading to a beautifully flowing palate that's silky and fleshy. Splendidly proportioned and harmonious with elegant structure and persistency. At its best: now to 2027."

2020 Vintage

From Misty Cove's flagship Fareham Lane vineyard. Quite a fruit-bomb style with dark-fleshed plum, dark cherry, vanilla and a strong spicy oak influence. An appealing wine that is ready to drink now.

2019 Vintage

"Offering fabulous fruit purity together with seductive complexity, the wine shows dark cherry, raspberry, roasted nut, subtle game and floral aromas on the nose. The palate displays excellent weight and richness, while remaining stylish and elegant with soothing mouthfeel and a lingering sophisticated finish. At its best: now to 2024."

Winemaking

The fruit was sourced from our flagship Fareham Lane Vineyard. The parcels selected were a combination of our Clone 10/5 & 777. These were hand harvested and then gently processed.

The individual batches that make up this wine were treated traditionally, allowing the natural fruit concentration and ripe tannin structure to shine. After 10 months of maturation in 100% French oak barriques – 40% new, 35% 1-year-old with the balance 2-year-old. Only selected barrels were chosen for this gorgeously divine and complex blend.
