Our barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc is named after a boat called Tamāhine (or the ‘Tam’). The ship kept the North and South Island of Aotearoa-New Zealand linked for close on 36 years.
It’s a story of Marlborough’s heritage - of connecting people. But it’s also a story of determination and grit – and the ship was most famous for very rarely missing a crossing, despite seeing some vicious storms in its time.
We thought of no better way to celebrate Sauvignon Blanc and winemaking in the region than with nod to this iconic passenger vessel. Here we have created a magnificent barrel fermented Sauvy B that has complexity, depth, texture, purity of fruit flavour and freshness.
