Winemaker's Pack

Our winemaker's sometimes need a couple of pet projects to keep them fired up. The team at casa del Misty wrapped their laughing gear around two uniquely creative wines - a barrel oaked Sauvignon Blanc (the 2019 Ella Maria) and our gorgeous Sauvignon Gris (not to be confused with a blend, but a single grape variety). What you get from this pack is a labour of love and a reason for our winemaker's to talk smug down at the pub.

What's Inside...

2019 Heritage Series Ella Maria:

This is Marlborough Sauvy but probably not as you know it. That’s because after the grapes are hand harvested and whole bunch pressed they then undergo wild fermentation in French Barriques for 10 months. This is the sixth release of this highly sought-after wine. Named after Andrew and Marieke’s first daughter, Ella Maria, the white Bordeaux style is produced in limited numbers and only ever made from exceptional fruit.


2020 Landmark Series Sauvignon Gris

Our Sauvignon Gris has all the smarts and substance. Lesson One: it's not a blend, it's a grape. Lesson two: not a lot of people make this wine in NZ (ahem we do). Spicy and highly textured, our Landmark Sauvignon Gris has notes of stone fruit with delicate honey undertones. The wine keeps to the drier side, but delivers ripe flavours of mango, citrus and melon. Totally unique - totally phenomenal flavour profile.
